Why it helps

Hands are often dirty in the workshop; speaking the complaint and what was already checked is faster than typing on a phone.

Hands dirty? Speak instead of typing. The Description field on the diagnostic form has a microphone button. Tap it, say what the customer reported and what you have already checked, and the text is added to the description.

How to

  1. Open the diagnostic form
  2. Click the microphone in the Description field and speak
  3. Recording stops after about 2 seconds of silence or on a second click; text is added to Description

Good to know

  • Your browser needs permission to use the microphone. If it is blocked, WrenchLane shows a dialog that explains how to allow it.
  • Recording stops after about 2 seconds of silence, or when you click the microphone again.
  • The spoken text is added to whatever is already in the Description field.
Do I have to type the codes from my scan tool?

No. Click the camera button next to Error codes and take or choose a photo (JPEG or PNG) of the scan tool's screen; WrenchLane reads the codes and their descriptions into the form. You can also speak them with the microphone.
