Electrical component tests (wiring-diagram verification steps)

For electrical causes on vehicles with technical data, each cause lists the exact components to check in order. Expanding a step lets the mechanic locate the part and run a guided wiring-diagram test with step-by-step measurements, without leaving the diagnosis.

Why it helps

Connects the AI's suspicion directly to the OEM component test and pinout, saving the lookup in a separate manual.

For electrical causes on vehicles with technical data, WrenchLane lists the exact components to check, in order. Open a component to Locate it, Verify it with a guided wiring-diagram test and step-by-step measurements, or go to Repair, all without leaving the diagnosis.

When you need more, 'Open full technical data' takes you to the full component diagnosis.

How to

  1. Expand a cause on a vehicle with technical data
  2. Under ELECTRICAL COMPONENT TESTS expand a component
  3. Use Open full technical data for the full component diagnosis, or step through 1 Locate / 2 Verify / 3 Repair

Good to know

  • Available in countries with OEM technical data coverage (EU, EFTA and the UK).
  • Included on Small and Large, on One for the unlocked vehicle, and on the demo vehicle for any plan.
  • Only shown for electrical causes with a matching component. Other causes get the regular checks instead.
Can I go from a cause straight to wiring diagrams and component tests?

In European countries, electrical causes list the components to check in order, with Locate, Verify and Repair and a guided wiring-diagram test, and an Error code diagnosis card gives guided tests per code. Highlighted part names in the text link into the technical data; in North America they open Images & diagrams. Opening the data needs a Small or Large plan, the One plan's unlocked vehicle or the demo vehicle.
