Which device manages your subscription (Apple vs web billing)

A subscription is managed where it was bought. Subscriptions bought in the iOS app are managed through Apple; on the web and Android they are shown as managed through the iOS app. Subscriptions bought on the web or via sales (Stripe) are managed on the web; in the iOS app all plan, billing and payment buttons are hidden and the user is told to visit wrenchlane.com from a browser.

Why it helps

Explains why billing buttons differ between devices, and keeps the iOS app within App Store rules.

Your subscription is managed where you bought it.

Bought in the iOS app? It is managed through Apple, and on the web and Android you will see that it is managed through the iOS app. Bought on the web or through our sales team? It is managed on the web, and in the iOS app the plan and billing buttons are hidden with a note to visit wrenchlane.com from a browser.

How to

  1. Stripe subscriber in the iOS app: pricing page shows only the notice 'Your subscription is managed on the web. Visit wrenchlane.com from a browser to change your plan.'
  2. Profile > Plan & billing shows 'Your subscription is managed on the web. Visit wrenchlane.com from a browser to update billing or change your plan.'
  3. Apple subscriber on web/Android: pricing page shows 'Your subscription is managed through the WrenchLane iOS app. Please use the app to make subscription changes.'
