Access when a subscription ends or payment is late

Active, trialing and past-due workshops use the app normally. A paused (trial ended) or cancelled subscription sends the user to the pricing page with an explanation. Past due is a grace state: full access continues while Stripe retries the payment or a bank-transfer invoice is open.

Why it helps

Paying customers are not locked out over a late payment, and lapsed users always get a clear way back.

Active, trial and past-due workshops use WrenchLane normally. If a payment is late, you keep full access while the payment is retried or a bank-transfer invoice is open.

If a trial ends without a card or a subscription is cancelled, you are taken to the pricing page with an explanation such as 'Your subscription has ended. Choose a plan to continue.'

How to

  1. Step-by-step instructions are not yet verified.

Good to know

  • Mechanics whose workshop lost its plan see 'Your access has been restricted' and need to contact their admin.
  • Billing and plan changes are handled by the workshop administrator.
  • A subscription is cancelled after payment retries run out or after 60 days past due.
What happens if a payment fails?

You keep full access while the payment is retried or an invoice is open. If the payment is not completed in the end, the subscription is cancelled and the workshop moves to the Free plan.

Why are my mechanics locked out?

When a workshop's plan drops to Free, the extra team members are locked until the admin upgrades again. Plan & billing shows how many members are locked.
