P0011 on a SKODA Fabia III: Diagnosing a 4th Gear Knock

A 2017 SKODA Fabia III recently came into a shop with a P0011 code and a very specific customer complaint: a knocking noise in fourth gear that clears up as the car gets going. The technician noted the symptom exactly as the customer described it.
